Anunnaki - Ancient Aliens: Truth Behind The Original Bible Story

The discovery of cuneiform tablets in the early 17th century played a crucial role in reshaping our understanding of Mesopotamian cultures. First thought to be mere decorations, the ancient cuneiform scripts have become the gateway to an extraordinary world. These tablets contain vast records ranging from royal histories to everyday transactions. The deciphering of these tablets by scholars like Henry Rawlinson opened up new perspectives on ancient stories.

One particularly fascinating aspect is the hypothesis concerning the Anunnaki – beings from Sumerian mythology who are said to have come from the heavens. “Those who from Heaven to Earth came…” (Sumerian: 𒀭𒀀𒉣𒈾).

One of the earliest proponents of this controversial theory was Nathaniel Schmidt (May 22, 1862 – June 29, 1939) a Swedish-American Baptist minister, orientalist, theologian, and professor at Colgate University. Schmidt was an expert in Semitic languages and delved deeply into ancient Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian texts. His research suggested that these ancient stories might have influenced the foundational narratives of major world religions, including Christianity and Judaism.

Interestingly, Schmidt’s work revealed striking similarities between biblical stories such as Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and the Flood and those found in earlier Sumerian texts. Therefore, this posed a significant challenge to the religious doctrines of the time, and the idea that biblical stories could have derived from earlier myths was seen as heretical.

At the time, Schmidt’s interpretations were considered radical and eventually led to his dismissal from his academic position. However, his work laid the groundwork for future researchers to explore these connections further.

Many of the world’s oldest stories and writings claim that the rule of human society began with superior beings or gods establishing supremacy over humans, and, at a later stage, the job of rulership was handed over to human governors or kings. The discovery of the Behistun inscription, a large rock relief on a cliff in Iran also revealed details about these extraterrestrial cultures, including their involvement in creating human workers.

If we consider these interpretations and stories to be true, then human history might have been significantly influenced or even controlled by extraterrestrial beings at some point. This raises profound questions about our origins, development, and autonomy as a species.

While mainstream science and religion have largely dismissed these ideas, the persistent curiosity of researchers and the growing amount of evidence keep the debate alive.
